Conservation and Management of the Tomb of Tutankhamen
Component One: Background Research and Assessment Phase
A complete assessment of the tomb and its wall paintings will be conducted and a detailed conservation plan will be developed.
Component Two: Implementation of Conservation Plan
The research and investigation undertaken during the project's first phase will lead to the development and implementation of a conservation program for the tomb and its wall paintings.
Component Three: Development and Implementation of Monitoring and Maintenance Program, Presentation and Interpretation Plans, and Policies for Uses of the Tomb
The monitoring and maintenance program will include the development of a schedule and protocol for periodic inspections, interpretation and presentation of the tomb, and establishment of visitation parameters.
Component Four: Project Evaluation and Dissemination
A complete project evaluation will be conducted and the project results will be disseminated to both professional and public audiences.
